kg4 re: "faith"

faith should not enter into any investment decision, because it entails a less then tangible emotion.

bull markets tend to create conviction and belief that they will continue, and any strategy will suffice. the last bull run, was not as any in prior history, created a great deal of wealth....but also instilled false confidence.

nothing wrong with taking profits off the table and utilize them to create a better quality of life. tangibles remain stable...stock prices do not...

understand your own risk tolerances, investing doesn't require bravado....just common sense, and understanding that a loss of capital is a reality...

investors have been decimated since 1929....as recent as 73, 87, 97, 98.......interesting how investor psychology fears more selling a stock at a profit because of possible loss of further appreciation, but fears not hanging on to a losing position in hopes that they may regain a bit of the loss.....convoluted logic...

this selloff will pass as those that came before it...but you can only profit from the true opportunities if you have been prudent enough to take profits and instead of doubling down, invest same in quality of life tangibles....

good luck...ed a.
