By the way, I happen to like LE. In fact, I think of him as a role model.

It's time to padlock the Dumpster. :-))

blisenko: MSFT is in a very good position. They have a great set of products coming out and they seem to be well received by the enterprise market and compared to those that are being displaced they are very cost effective and equally reliable and scaleable. As far as their stock price is concerned that is a function of the market. The uncertainty surrounding MSFT is attributable in great part to the lawsuit which reflects the integrity of MSFT the duplicity of DOJ and the weakness and fear of SUNW ORCL IBM et al. I sincerely think that they saw the threat of W2K and did the only thing they could do about it. I own as much of ORCL as MSFT and I am always disappointed when LE goes off on the anti-MSFT tangent when he would be better off just listening to his customers and keep doing what they do well.

Did I say I was blaming LE?

I blame the Clinton administration and Joel Klein for MSFT problems. But ORCL and SUNW have been exposed for lobbying them to pursue MSFT, so they can claim some of the blame too. Personally I would rather beat them in the marketplace fairly than wasting time playing a blame game.

And if you want to consider Larry Ellison as your role model then go right ahead, I consider him closer to evil incarnate than any kind of a role model and also a possible candidate for the Anti-Christ ala Damien (i.e. raised by relatives in the south side of Chicago)
