It looks like the country gets a chance to show the liberals how we feel about them and their "honor"

thestar.com

With any luck, there won't be a single one left standing west of NFLD.

Good One Marcos!

Having lived both in the Far East -g- and the Far West -g-, with a few pit stops in between,I can well relate to the disparities and ill-informed generalizations Canadians all too often are wonton to embrace.

If my father were alive the day PET died ,( he fought in WWII-[the BIG ONE - Archie Bunker]under the Union Jack ) it would have been an occasion. He and I could never come to an agreement regarding PET's agenda. He was a British Loyalist to his death.May they both meet in the here-after to settle their differences. We certainly never could.

I hold a deep respect for P.E.T. for his vigilance in trying to educate Canadians in the benefits of a strong united country. His desire to achieve those goals were thwarted mainly by those who wanted power in all things Provincial. This exists to this day, and I don't know if we are any further ahead than we were 20 years ago.

Sometimes I think it is just as well to let each province or territory go its own way, like the Newfoundlanders are now discussing.I don't know if the country can be saved as it is longer term. The Continental Divide just seems to get deeper with every passing year , and the elections about to be called and won again by the Liberals, will serve only to alienate the West once again.

Except for Canada Day and during International events like the Olympics , I think more Canadian's are looking regionally inward and could care less what's happening in another part of the country. When they go on vacation , they travel outside the country increasingly each year without ever having set foot in other parts of the country. They are more informed on what is happening in America than in their own back yard , especially the TV and Internet generation.

You and I have had a number of discussions on SI regarding the East-West/North South evolution.I know we disagree, so let's not go there. -g-

Marcos, I'm pretty busy lately ( back on the Wet Coast again) and hope we can get together some day over a brewski and shoot the breeze in person.Gotta run for now.

PS: That " Is he still dead ? " was a hoot!!Too funny.

Take care.
