Would you be a buyer of TI, (TXN) at this level as well?

I don't know. Do you know if TXN executives have made any comments recently about next quarter's earnings?

I thought the NAZZ would bounce today. It didn't. The markets may drop further. I'm not sure why investors worry so much about the semis. As Tony Viola and Brian K have said many, many times we will need chips for all kinds of things even though the PC market has slowed down a bit.

Could it be that investors and traders have other worries: a shortage of home heating oil this winter, high energy prices, higher food costs because of the severe drought in many areas of the United States? Perhaps, they worry over the outcome of the US Presidential election and the impact it might have on the stock market or interest rates. By now, "the wealth effect" or investors belief that a stock market that only goes up will pay for their appetite for consumer goods must be shattered --surely! So what do they do? They worry about future earnings and the semi-sector is one area that I believe they worry too much about. I believe this area is oversold, but that doesn't mean it won't drop further.

I sure wish I knew the answers, Michael.

Best,

Mephisto
