A word about the AMD earnings, which I view as absolutely mission critical to the markets.

Consensus is $.62

I've ran the numbers over and over and I can't come up with anything lower than $.75 even after factoring in the potential weakness in PC's. Q1 I was under by $.30 and Q2 I was under by $.03 (BTW- my past two guesses were both closer than ANY of the ANALysts).

If they earn under $.70, I think this signals MAJOR problems ahead for the semi's and the PC's. Say they beat by $.05, the talking heads will be trying to pump up the sector, but I'll be getting VERY worried for those sectors.

FWIW- my estimate is $.78 with revs up 10% sequencially. I wouldn't be surprised if they crush these numbers.
