i don't know if buffett has been a dismal failure, as far as i can see, someone who'd bought in sept 98 would have about broken even with berkshire, people have done better and people have done worse. you have some friends or enemies who have athm ? nuff said there... as far as franco goes, they have a considerable stash of cash and are not (as) subject to the concern of rising costs as you suggested here with the mine in Latin America, as some of the income comes from royalty plays. i own 9 shares of abx due to a DRIP in the past and i couldn't give a fig what happens to abx. i don't know why you call Gates a loser, wouldn't you like to have his dough ? ps. what is your vendetta with Claude about anyway ? it don't make much sense that you'd be so concerned about a small fry penny stock like the bay...what gives big guy ?
