Applied Micro Circuits Climbs After Close on Earnings Report

Applied Micro Circuits (AMCC:Nasdaq - news) was up 3.1% from Wednesday's close near the start in after-hours Island trading after it posted second-quarter earnings of 26 cents per share. That beat the First Call/Thomson Financial consensus of 23 cents and the year-ago 8 cent result. The communications chipmaker declared a 2-for-1 split.

AMD came thru. AMCC up 10 in AH. If these gains stick that will be a signal of change in sentiment. Last week they trashed MU for blowing past the estimates.
