There's a bunch of knee-slapping and finger shooting during that part. I think it goes best with tequila. At least for the adults.

Then there's "I'm bound to leave 'ol Texas now, they've got now use for the longhorn cow. I'll bid adeiu to the Alamo and turn my head towards Mexico". Very sad song. We used to sing it in class in grade school. That and the state anthem. One of the times I was in trouble in school was for mumbling and having hair in my mouth during the singing of it. I had to sit in front of the class and sing it solo. The teacher was so appalled.

Virginia is quite the place. What an amazing collection of people. When I make my drive north, one of these days, I'd love to wander around it. My mother's maternal side first settled there in the Tidewaters, very early on.

I wrote a poem recently about New England for a friend there. She showed it to an elderly native who thought I was from there. When she found out I wasn't, she said I had the soul of a New Englander. I thought that a very great compliment.

feel pretty special being both a Virginian and a Texan

An exquisite blend indeed. I'm trying to imagine how you
pronounce "about" ... the Virginian "ah-baa-oot" or the
Texan "uh-bout". I'm guessing none of the above and
something close to dictionary-correct.

Which leads to the larger question ... Does Ish talk
like his fellow Illinoisian(?), Hillary?
