Sure the Mobile Internet has a nice ring to it,

Steve, The mobile web in PDA's was discussed in music mag CMJ recently.
Some of their findings:
Palm VIIX $449 + $129 for modem connectivity kit, internet fees were $9.95-$21.95/month for the ISP plus $9.99-44.99 for Palm.net.
Pros: Sends/recieves e-mail almost anywhere, synchable with a computer, Web clipping program program offers summaries from more than 400 web sites. Contains a calendar, address book, to-do list and memo pad. Can store 400 e-mails, 8,000 addresses and 100 web clipping, 30 addon applications and eight years of appointments.
Cons: Limited access to the web, external attennae/modem, limited wireless capability
Ideal for: The wireless user seduced by flash, not substantive dash.

RIM Blackberry 957
($499, 439.5/month for verizon wireless service plus $9.95-21.95mo for ISP and $9.95-19.95/month for Go.Web access/data compression)
Pros: Sends/recieves e-mail almost anywhere, (and with optionable Web compression service) access any site in real time, synchable with a computer, battery life 10 times the Palm Pilot, built in keyboard includes calendar and address book.
CONS: Access fees, only sold through ISPs.
Ideal for: Business travellers who need 24/7 web access.

They also reveiwed EPODS's Epodsone, CIDCO's Mailstation, and Compaq's Ipaq but they were weak and I was going to type the stuff.

The point is that everyone was to surf the web and the cell phone companies are lagging the PDA leaders PALM and RIMM by my guesstimate around about 8 months or so. MOT's new phone I saw two weeks ago is small, colorful, but apparently won't access websites, only financial summaries so it is coming close to the Palm VII.

RFMD will rise when NOK, ERICY, or MOT catch up to the current RIM 957. The RIM 957 at the best is $60/mo. Still pricy for the casual user. Package all these RIM qualities into a cell phone for $60-70/mo and the sector will take off.

Just some thoughts from a man who sold RIMM at $32 to take profits and waited to buy in the dip that never came. These RFMD prices will be the same once the sector does get moving.

Jack
