TXCC up 9% after hours...AMCC up in after hours about 5% TranSwitch proforma profit rises 18 percent WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2000 5:21 PM - Reuters NEW YORK, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Semiconductor company TranSwitch Inc. (NASDAQ NM:TXCC) on Wednesday said its third-quarter earnings rose 18 percent, beating Wall Street expectations, as revenue more than doubled. On a proforma basis, excluding the amortization of goodwill and other intangible assets, Shelton, Conn.-based TranSwitch said its profit in the period ended Sept. 30 rose to $12.1 million, or 14 cents per share, from $9.9 million, or 12 cents per share a year earlier. Including the goodwill amortization, the designer of communications chips said its net income totalled $9.2 million, or 11 cents per share.
