Dave.....George keeps bringing up why Gore didn't get it done in 8 years....well what did Bush do for children's healthcare in Texas in 8 years.If you look at the issues of education,abortion,pollution,social security......Bush cannot compete on the specifics.....His state is last in pollution and child health coverage but leads in the area of gun sales at gun shows and in capital punishment....BTW,anyone of us could bone up on foreign affairs in a weeks time.

Analysis of the second debate... Jim Lehrer (the man who claims to be from nowhere politically) did a phenomenal job of articulating the liberal agenda. Gay marriage, guns, hate crime legislation, environment, etc. etc. Notice he never asked about the Boy Scout controversy. Which makes Bush's performance all the more impressive. Bush again was sincere, and articulant. He was also very confident. Gore on the other hand had the liberal agenda handed to him on a silver platter and still came away looking "snippy". But at least he wasn't condescending or rude. He did look like Dr Strangelove who couldn't raise his hands though.. CNN Instant Poll... Bush 49% Gore 36% ABC Similar margin. Today, Ohio turned decidedly Bush. California is within 6 percentage points, and even CNN says Bush is ahead in the electoral vote 205-185. The writing is on the wall. Two debates, two Bush victories, equals Bush victory in 3 weeks. Better luck next time liberals....I tried to tell you a year ago Gore was unelectable. Oh, before I go... couldn't you really relate to that everyday Gore line "Far be it for me to suggest otherwise"? The guy's got limousine liberal written all over his language.
