John, this is an interesting idea that you propose- that bad events tend to cluster together. But could it simply be the case that when mass psychology is positive, bad events tend to be ignored or de-emphasized, but when mass psychology is negative, these same events are believed to be laden with importance? A rational, educated person might observe public reaction to events and wonder, "why are people (getting up in arms about)/(not paying attention to) this issue?" But one might as well say, "why doesn't that stupid dog next door stop barking?" Apparently, only a small minority of people are able to surmount their own nature, which is cognitive dissonance, when confronted with events that challenge deeply held beliefs.

cmtn getting pounded.

a lot of stocks have lost over 90% of their value. wow.

don't know what's keeping the fiberoptics and genomics afloat. maybe they're next.

give me a few more months of this and it'll feel like the oil sector when oil was $12/barrel.
