Commodities - no doubt.. But gas is a commodity too. If your car can go 20 miles on 1 gallon and another can go 30 miles - both cars have the same features and comfort.. which do you buy? It's really quite simple. Putting routing code on a CE device will make it more expensive... both in software and hardware - than those that don't. Unless this code provides some sort of necessary incremental functionality then I suspect the increased price will be impossible to justify. The CE vendors are all about cost. It's a low margin high volume business. They will gravitate towards whatever is least expensive to build.
