I think the $300 pricepoint on the eBook is fine if it can function as a PDA for calendar, contacts, etc.

Guys, having worked on ebooks this summer, and spent most of the time arguing the case from a gorilla perspective, I can tell you, that allowing this sort of functionality, although not completely ruled out nor the issue settled, is not something Gemstar prefers. Gemstar prefers a stupid device with its only connectivity and functionality being the ability to hook-up to Gemstar servers and download books and record catalog orders via its servers, and its servers alone.

This among several decisions in the ebook I have disagreements with Gemstars strategy.

I gotta go finish a paper before noon (actually on this very topic by coincidence). But if anyone has any specicic questions, in this regard to ebooks I can try to address them in the next next day or so because I really don't want to post 10 pages here with my ebook go to market strategy vs. what seems to be happening.
