palestinians think they are bargaining from a position of strength!

And that is why Barak has called for a government of national emergency. He HAS TO ESCALATE in order to force Arafat to look over the brink at the chasm below....

Conciliation is a sure sign that the Israelis have lost their resolve and will only egg on the Palestinians to further violence...

Someone has to force the two sides to come to terms... but the US call for a summit was rejected by Mubarak and other Arab leaders.

It could be that no one desires peace anymore... especially since the current shortage of oil provides the OPEC nations the capability to invoke another oil embargo...

And Saddam Hussein his chance to go out in a blaze of glory.... before he dies of cancer..

Rumours are that he is massing troops on his western borders.
