charred, couldn't PFG just pay off the contract? There's the cost of PFG's own personnel staying on the site to be considered. Of course, if PFG doesn't have any other prospects standing by, I guess the question is where could those geologists and other PFG personnel be moved. I assume the geologists are permanent staff or on fixed contracts, and are not extra staff you can lay off on short notice. As you say, it might have been wiser to sign up only one drill rig until the first drill results were known.
