No idea what it is now

The Wilshire 5000 index is just market cap with a few zeros removed. 5000 stocks isn't everything, but it's a decent proxy.

Peak was 14,991... now at 12,360.

Interesting. I am looking forward to the Fed's Flow of Funds report for 3Q2000. It should come out the second Friday of November. This report shows household net worth, and itemizes the household sector net worth by asset class (mutual funds, stocks, bonds, cash, tangible assets, etc.). In 2Q2000, the household sector net worth had fallen by over 2% from year end 1999, due almost entirely to an 8% drop in the value of equity and MF holdings. I would expect a further drop in household net worth during 3Q2000.
