Sly:

I think I know a few who are "happy with this market,...etc." But your comment does bring up an important question.

The big question now is whether there are still a few bear market bounces left in this tulip before it does slide over the edge. Personally, I believe that there is, and in fact I hope that there is, but it sure isn't acting that way. My big worry now is that neither fundamentals nor TA have any impact on this market,..... and that margin calls start to dominate the game.

Best, Earlie

As I said before, nobody can possibly be happy with this market at the levels that it is now.

I am.

Sylvestor80, it appears a bottom may be near for the short term (through Jan). Expect some typical winter rally which will continue after election day if we get a demo house and a republican pres., or vica-versa.

My trades this week in Rambus were a mixed bag. Bought the drop in my IRA and sold the Nov. 50 call against it, which is worth nine points so far (10 max possible). Also bought the Jan 03 55 Leap at 28 only to watch it drop to 18.25 before rebounding to 25 and change today. I expect it to be volatile, but this is ridiculous. Of course I was one day early buying the leap. I may take a few more of these if they stay under 28 for long.

The new Samsung deal is a coup even though RMBS already had a nice royalty relationship with the company. If Sony gets parts and up to speed on II production they could sell 12 million by March which would mean about $20,000,000 to Rambus. If Pentium IV takes off, that will be another great shot in the arm for Rambus. The newspapers are beating a dead horse (old news) regarding the Intel relationship, and seem to be out of touch regarding AMD/Rambus dealings.
