Eric: I agree, but short of a war, we may be about to see a new round of "economic" terrorism -- passion AND calculation. We are economically vulnerable and that is well understood. In 1973, the oil crisis coincided with the point at which demand exceeded supply -- this was a necessary factor to force oil prices up 300-400%. I think it is shocking that we have allowed ourselves to be exposed to this form of risk -- but it is there now and others are ready, willing and unfortunately capable of exploiting our short-sightedness. Two days ago, I thought we might get away with it. This morning it became clear that we did not.
