OT

RE:Specifically, I want to dispute your depiction of Rand's philosophy as "survival of the fittest", at least not in the way that term is commonly applied. For Rand would in no way have countenanced the extermination of the "unfit" if it necessitated the use of force (as eliminating people normally does). She only would have denied any moral claim that they might have on wages of the "fit".

So, are you saying that Rand would have "countenanced the extermination" of the "unfit" if all it took was to allow them to starve and "she only would have denied any moral claim that they might have" on the food of the "fit."

Rambling with Mike
Would like to see the Bennett piece.
I do feel we have a responsibility for others. I know Rand wasnt for extermination but starving people on the streets is more that I can bear. Sometimes there but for the grace of God go I if you get the drift. And actually if the market continues its decline I could be out there too.
As far as the market goes I will hold on until I am wiped out. I will not succumb to CNBC terrorism. Somewhere in here I would like to make a big bet. I kind of remember the market at times when a big bet paid off almost immediately. We shall see.
I have disliked Al Gore immensely ever since he ran for President in 1988 and he and Mayor Koch travelled in NY with Gore as the right wing candidate. He sucked then and does now. But I just cant get myself believing Bush is smart enough for the job but I am on the verge of switching to him. Just so everyone knows Gore attended law school but did not graduate. Mike
