Let's see:

1. It is alleged that various Russian officials diverted IMF money. Bush memory confuses this with the specific allegations against Chernomyrdin, which involve the Russian energy combine. Not much, and certainly not an "exaggeration".....

2. They have a hate crime law, and the men were convicted of murder. The two things were confusedly juxtaposed. Hmmmmmmm........

3. There is nothing in the "fact" item to contradict Bush's statement that he is signing them up as fast as any other state......

4. Bush did not say that he was for the registering of all guns. He did confuse licensing (of the user) with registration (of the object). I think that is ordinarily called mispeaking.....

5. There was an exaggeration about the numbers. Gore tossed in an estimate of the revenue loss from getting rid of the estate tax, as if it were a part of the income tax reduction. That is the only way that he could claim that the top 1% was getting more in tax relief than was budgeted for various things. Total error......

6. The gaffe was reported as Bush quoted it. If there were a correction, I had not heard about it myself. Maybe Bush had not either.

7. The two things are not necessarily contradictory. Texas can spend a lot of money, and still be low in state rankings. Someone has to be at the bottom.

8. No contradiction at all. He could easily have opposed expansion of the measure and not been a hard- hearted person.

9. Bush made a mistake. As I said, I forgive Gore for confusing the presidents of Yugoslavia and Serbia, I forgive Bush for confusing this.

10. Under "best interest of the children" rules, Bush might honestly support such a thing without contradiction.

11. Taking statistics is not the same as racial profiling.

12. There was no inaccuracy.

13. The US contingent in Bosnia is huge, and was supposed to have come home years ago. Taking both Bosnia and Kosovo, the paper is accurate.

14. Actually, he does not comment on the relative effectiveness at all. He asserts that it helps with the problem.......
