Exactly........I'll take my family to Europe next year on the voucher money!! Thank you taxpayers for the rebate!!! Hope you can find enough private schools out there!!

PS. They cost more than the vouchers will give you!

If you're a wealthy parent and your kids are attending a good public or private school, targeted voucher wouldn't be available. It's only available to parents who's kids are forced to attend lousy schools.

The idea is to help poor children who are currently attending failing public schools. Many of our inner city schools have high drop out rates, and poor levels of literacy.

Your statement sounds cute in a silly cliche' sense. But is totally and completely illogical in regard to Bush's plan.

"Reading is a civil right."

Here, read for yourself what a voucher initiative is and then you have a basis for an informed opinion.

The popular schools out here in California are referred to as Fundamental Schools in the public sector and are wildly popular among the minority community. They go to great lengths to get their children enrolled in them. Private and parochial schools are pledging to provide space for the voucher program which will be phased in over a 4 year period. Supply and demand should work in the education business, it does fine in the rest of the economy.
