Not surprising at all. It reminds me of the old poem:

For want of a nail , the shoe was lost:
For want of the shoe , the horse was lost;
For want of the horse , the rider was lost;
For want of the rider , the battle was lost;
For want of the battle , the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a nail.

It is arrogant to presume one can analyze and predict stock valuations over the short term with any accuracy when such movements are derivatives of an incredibly complex and unpredictable world.
