Could it be the Saudis are doing their bit to pay George Bush Sr. back for helping them out in their hour of need back during "Persian Excursion"? Conspiracy Theory at its most extreme, I admit... But you have to admit the logic is compelling... That thought crossed my mind as well. I obviously have no idea what angles are being played. But I would be very surprised to see any effectively coordinated action by Arab States aimed at pressing the US to press Israel to lay off. I would be even more surprised to see direct military action against Israel. Saddam might find it advantageous to try and make a gesture, which would make life temporarily embarrassing for the Arab states allied against him, but his capacities are limited. It is a very iunsecure part of the world, but I don't see it as a situation that calls for major force deployment on the part of the US. It would not surprise me at all if flies on the wall at US-Saudi meetings heard both sides wishing fervently that both Israelis and Palestinians could be conveniently bound and gagged for all eternity.
