William, I am not sure if you are being serious about 922. That seems a bit extreme. The economy is doing well enough to keep us from visiting 10/97 at this point, especially in 2 weeks. all imo. tp

Agree with your lower number. The question is when? Do we see a bounce from here - ie the DS (Carl) scenario followed by a large decline in several months (ie next year) or do we go straight down. If mid 1200's fail to hold there is little support down to 1000 area. 1000 area would also take S&P into mid to high range of traditional P/E area. At current levels P/E is still stratospheric by traditional norms. Right now I'm letting the market tell me which way it is going (ie bounce from here vs straight down) rather than vice versa. I am also guided by fundamental valuations which are still very high. I want to commend all on this thread for their insight and also some of the outrageous humor that goes with it.
