You are exactly right. Not to make a political statement but the lack of a foreign policy and an energy policy caused the Fed's interest rate increases in the first place.
The concept of solving our reliance on foreign oil by encouraging alternative fuel vehicles is just dumb. Detroit is doing everything it can to delay and stall the acceptance of these cars because they end their parts and repairs business. Gore's story about Detroit just can't wait to push these cars is just a lie. Check the California laws requiring over 20,000 such cars sold there by next year and the fact that less than 2,000 have been placed because of Detroit's foot dragging.

The global problems that started today are really clouding the market and are really putting a turnaround into super slow motion. Those who can separate the emotions from the opportunities can begin picking off "once in a decade" bargains as soon as next week.
