OT -- Ayn Rand's philosophy also runs contrary to human nature. I am a firm believer in following one's true nature (and in general natural laws for everything). Ayn Rand ignores that empathy and compassion are integral parts of human nature. One naturally is troubled by seeing pain of others. While it is true that she does not forbid you to help others, by ignoring this side of the human nature and treating charity as irrelevant, she creates a frame work in which it is too easy to ignore the compassionate voice inside yourself.

BTW, QCOM was one of the reasons I felt so humble yesterday. I was so certain it would fly. Its movement to the contrary on heavy volume was disheartening. Thankfully I did not incur a loss. But true to my philosophy I have to admit I don't know the stock and so I am out. I wish you better luck.
