Candidates are like stocks. Do your own diligence.
Consider what they say. But be convinced by corroboration.
Realize that sometimes in their job they have to lie.
And the one that promised not to (Carter) lost in a landslide.

Interesting point on Carter - remember the October surprise? Iran being approached by CIA types and told not to release hostages until after the election? I'm not saying today was part of a conspiracy but who has the most to gain? Terrorists? Saddam is the obvious one. But would any other group commit such a terrible act? And could it have anyting to do with election timing? Just thinking aloud.
