Yea, we could figure out some sort of trade ... refine in europe, swap base stock in transit and ship the distillate to the states. -g-

Well, they've got little BillieR on the wire trying to talk heating oil down:

<<WASHINGTON, Oct 13 (Reuters) - U.S. Energy Secretary Bill Richardson said on Friday that several major U.S. oil
companies have agreed not to export heating oil under current market conditions.

The firms are Amerada Hess (NYSE:AHC - news) as well as Equiva Trading and Motiva Enterprises, which are both joint
ventures of Royal Dutch/Shell Group's (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: SHEL.L) U.S. unit Shell Oil, Texaco Inc (NYSE:TX -
news). and Saudi Aramco. They voluntarily agreed to keep heating oil in the U.S. market for domestic consumption as supplies
are tight heading into the winter, Richardson said.

``The four companies have volunteered, agreed not to export heating oil,'' Richardson told reporters after hosting a solar energy event at DOE headquarters.>>

EARTH TO BILLIE - that's about 4.5M barrels of the 30M you just gave away! Try again numbnut - your dept. has already announced that they expect at least 15M barrels to go overseas from the "Owl Gore Election Memorial Oil Giveaway".

<<The bidders, which included oil companies, middlemen and brokers,
were:

Marathon Ashland Petroleum, Houston, 3.9 million barrels; Euell Energy,
Aurora, Colo., 3 million barrels; BP Oil Supply Co., Warrenville, Ill., 6
million barrels; Elf Trading Inc., Houston, 1 million barrels;

Equiva Trading Co., Houston, 2.5 million barrels; Morgan Stanley Dean
Witter, New York, 2 million barrels; Vitol S.A. Inc., Houston, 1.6 million
barrels; Valero Marketing and Supply Co., San Antonio, 1 million
barrels;

Burhany Energy Enterprises Inc., Tallahassee, Fla., 3 million barrels;
Lance Stroud Enterprises Inc., New York, 4 million barrels; and Hess
Energy Inc., New York, 2 million barrels.>>
