I suppose that in the interest of fairness we should give the other guys 4 years to appoint their own thieves; I doubt that you or I will see much difference.

I have no real emotional stake in the election at all. I definitely prefer gridlock; I think that either party could do real damage if given control of both executive and legislative branches. I have a mild preference for gridlock with a Republican legislature, and there are some people on Bush's foreign policy team that I think could do some damage in Asia (I live there, so that means something to me). So I have a mild preference for Gore, though I think very little of him indeed. I have no real strong feelings in the matter beyond a conviction that we have nominated a pair of absolute bozos; I take some refuge in the thought that the country is probably sound enough to survive either of them.
