In checking it out on the weekly chart it says we are
getting close to a bounce.
If it fails we get an extended bear market.
People talk about 87 but that recovered within a year
the early 70s were worse.
We can forget the 29 crash, or the rhetoric that it
ever recovered.. It never did The depression
ended with WWII , but the 29 market did not recover
and the brokers that want you to think it did are
shape shifters.
Actually not one stock ever recovered, GM was selling for
over $500 in 29, what happened over time was New Issues
were brought in and the index was re-made.

It takes guts to buy when every one is selling or shorting
but I'm either going to make some money or feel very
foolish before long as I'm starting to buy.
I will ease in; the rally if we are going to get it
should happen early next week or just after options
expire. If that don't play out then we can forget this
market for several years.
With oil shooting UP it does look like we have a chance to
go into a prolonged recession.
That's what did it in the 70s.
