Of course a guarantee not to sue is a good thing, my point was that the trade-off would impact Corel's profitability, if Microsoft ever insists on the work being done. Fortunately, I think the chances of that are close to nil, MS are only interested in their public image right now. I was simply pointing out that there is absolutely no strategic upside for Corel in the deal.
