Interesting foil from Intel Fall IDF
From Impress Japan.

Looking Forward, (‘01 and ‘02).
-SDRAM platform for mainstream volume PC segments in 2001.
-Evaluation of DDR for mainstream volume PC segments.
-RDRAM solutions continue for performance leadership platforms.

This supports the "rumors" that Intel is evaluating DDR, and my guess that they already have a PIII platform for the evaluations.

Also, it's clear that PIII/Celeron/SDRAM will be the volume platforms from Intel next year.

Also interesting is the statement,
DUAL channel performance increases with processor frequency. Any implications there?
