Ellen, on HG. You may not believe this, but I wrote Dave Kansas (the editor of SCom) and asked him to investigate the question whether Herb "made up" the remarks about RFMD's CEO. Kansas wrote back that Herb did not make it up, and that such conduct would not be tolerated. I replied that Herb did not have to fabricate the story. The error-- the journalistic error-- was that he apparently NEVER spoke to anyone who heard the remarks himself/herself. As I said the DK, someone could have fabricated the story, told it to someone else who THEN told it to HG (I think this is what happened). The story was false. DK never replied. Draw your own conclusions. I had no position in RFMD when I spent the time with DK making this point. As for my alleged negativity, the only negative thing I have said about RFMD is related to the declining growth in sales overall in wireless.
