Small bomb explodes at Newmont's Indonesia office
JAKARTA, Oct 13 (Reuters) - A small bomb exploded at the Mataram office of copper-gold miner PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara on Lombok Island on Friday blowing a hole in a wall but left no casualties, Antara news agency reported.

PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara is jointly owned by a unit of Newmont Mining Corp (NYSE:NEM - news), a Japanese consortium called Nusa Tenggara Mining Corp and Indonesian miner PT Pukuafu Indah.

Newmont Nusa Tenggara operates in a copper-gold mine in Batu Hijau near Mataram city, 1,200 km (750 miles) east of Jakarta.

Company officials were not available for comment immediately.

Foreign-owned mines have become a target of destruction across Indonesia in recent months, mainly following disputes over land compensation claims.

There are 2 sides(if not more) to every story or issue. But this is a Gold Thread and I am not going to present the other point of view. It's not very important. After all, most people here have their views and attitudes engraved in stone.

Looks like Yesterday's War rally in Gold shares, is giving back most of its gains today thus far.
