Last night I noticed for the first time a number of talking heads indicating we had further down to go. If we take some decisive action overseas over the weekend, we could see a strong short term move to the upside. Facts have been ignored on the way up, why should now be any different.

So - do we have SUCKER stamped on us, or is this going to fail? I kinda feel like it's a case of Wile E. running off the edge of the cliff, and he just hasn't realized he's out there yet. (borrowed that from somebody, can't remember who)

I know we're overdue to rally, but as the Nikkei chart demonstrates, it's possible to do these things with as little as one day here or there of bounce.

I'm entirely open to the notion that it's "sell the rumor, buy the news," but I don't see how people would want to hold longs over this weekend. Trim-tabs backed up what I was saying, more outflows, and this weekend they may even begin to accelerate. Even the Clowns would be hard pressed not to see the problems ahead. Soaring fuel costs, rising inflation, slowing tech sales, falling stock prices - this is shaping up to be a lousy Christmas quarter.
