Twist and turn my previous posts to defend yourself e-bill. That "snide remark" was directed at your position that backed GWB's position on military readiness. Do you think military is not ready to handle present day dangers? A military that no longer has specter of cold war hanging in front of them.
If US frets over every terrorist attack then how is it going to handle a major conflict (that is the time you need military expansion not during peace time). All attempt should be made to minimize such events by use of intelligence gathering and analysis. Mil expansion during peace time will do nothing but spur military build up in other parts of the world.

Reaction to this incident should be swift and decisive.

BTW: I was involved in the configuration management information system for a couple of years that is probably deployed on USS Cole.
