Kenneth,

There were a couple of other highlights that you and I have discussed in the past.

1. It looks like the telcos are gaining a little traction with data fees.

2. Ciena is addressing the vendor financing issue by use of a third party. That was my prediction, and I am very pleased.

On another note, did you see Ciena's announcement yesterday and on the Bragg fiber grating channel spacing? I see this as a big breakthru as it permits an order of magnitude increase in the channel count. It will permit 16 terabits on a single fiber.

Ciena fabs the Bragg gratings in-house to control the quality, and proprietary fab techniques.

I'm anxiously awaiting Nortel's report. It should be another blockbuster. More meat out of poor Lucent's hide and a little help for poor Ciena.

If Lucent were to get it's act together and hire a John Roth type, I'd consider buying a little....for old time's sake.
