Paul, Re: Win a Pentium-4 from Gateway

The question is, is the $5000 meant to:

A) Cover the cost of renting another PC until the P4 systems are shipping next year?

B) Cover the cost of installing a powerful A/C system in the winner's home?

Re:Want to win a Gateway Pentium 4 PC ?

I think it's wonderful that Intel wants to fund a promotion to generate traffic for Gateway so that people can come into their stores and compare the "Gamer's Dream" 1100MHZ for $1,999 Athlon to the "Performance" 1000MHZ for $2,499 PIII. And by the time the traffic is really building, you can substitute 1.2GHZ for the Athlon.

Nice job, Intel - Jerry sends his thanks!

Paul,

<Want to win a Gateway Pentium 4 PC ?>

Big deal! Looks like this contest was supposed to showcase P4 and it was too late to pull out by the time P4 delay was known.

<Contestants with the highest scores nationwide in each age group following the final weekend of play will receive a gift certificate for a Pentium 4-based Gateway PC and $5,000. >

Being gamers, rest of the contestants may buy a Athlon 1.2G instead of buying a 933 PIII.

Chuck

Paul, why doesn't Gateway just give the winner a Pentium 4 PC instead of a gift certificate for one?
