He's been spamming threads and creating spam threads for a week or so now

Bob(may I bend your ear for a moment?), I have one small complaint in this department. About 4 or 6 months ago, SI did something that so now, if someone creates a new thread it doesn't show up in recent messages in their profile.

Not sure why they changed that. But here is a fine example of why that feature should be reinstated(if possible)...

Makes it a lot easier to track a spammer.

Fortunately for us, he also posted on his threads art least once so I can find them:

Subject 36988
and
Message 14530217

That's at least three.

EDIT: Looking into his profile, I guess he's not the same person that has been spamming threads. But spam served any way is still spam.

Bob,

The first line has been changed to beat the spambot, but the message is still the same.

RMAG spam - nine threads in a week - plus Web site advertising all in one package. At least he was smart enough to change the wording slightly and not do it all at once.

Still spam. Thanks.

Bob, although this isn't on SI directly, you have a 'miner', and it's getting out of hand. I hope some action is taken, beyond my PM enclosed here:

Mr. Swanson,

I somehow (mysteriously) have become a recipient of your Con-Space Communications "newsletter", of which you are the CEO, and which is spammed to people who have an interest in message boards. I've never signed up for it, and I use a specific email address at SI (unique from other accounts) to help determine where spams originate. And I get it, somehow.

It is no secret that unscrupulous people 'mine' SI's database for email addresses. Regrettable as that is, I can generally throw away the garbage, such as your newsletter. I must, however, vehemently protest your latest mailing, which was a 2.75 Mb PDF file. People on slower connections (56K or less) must absorb at least 15-20 minutes in download time, which is forced upon them through your mailings. Garbage spam is bad enough, let alone dealing with a singular ~3Mb file.

I have notified SI about your activities. It would be a good thing if you quit mining SI for email addresses, and I further expect you to remove me from your list (your latest junk mail does not even include a 'remove' function).
