And still have yet to see any kind of emergency plan from our government on what should have been done to prevent the rapid spread of the fires, or at least contain them quicker.

Of the pecuniary liability implicit in the Forest Service's long standing policy of impeding the natural smaller fires so necessary to preventing the buid-up of combustible undergrowth.

I wonder if these states will be able to sue the Federal government for $5 Billion as Alaska did with Exxon?...

Why should the Federal Government be less culpable/liable than the private sector?

Increased fire risk can be attributed to global warming.
Temperatures are rising slowly but surely, in the ocean too which is killing off coral reefs.
