Sorry, once I download a new set of data, I've lost the previous versions. I have been keeping track of these numbers for a while and saving the results, the only problem is that at some point I changed my methodology to only include US stocks in the totals. On 8/29/00 I had the following numbers, I believe these exclude foreign companies, but am not 100% sure: market # of total market total earnings P/E ratio cos. cap ($million) ($million) ================================================================ NYSE 1883 11797858.32 444403.19 26.55 NASD 4357 5742223.38 -83514.53 -68.76 AMEX 601 91979.64 -1475.94 -62.32 OTC 1792 57564.40 -36678.90 -1.57 ================================================================ total: 8633 17689625.74 If you can get the StockQuest program from Market Guide, I will gladly share the perl script I'm using.
