K., I would take some of the "soon" references with several grains of salt. In particular, I refer to the broadband wireless (2.5G and 3G) services. Although standard 2.5G currently may be available occasionally, standard 3G generally is not believed to be available for another 1 1/2 to 3 years despite much ballyhoo, according to Tim Dreisbach, CEO of Metricom. Even now, 2.5G is unable to perform up to expectations without HTS (High Temperature Superconductor) filters. However, some or all of what I wrote, above, about the timetable for 3G may have been altered by an order issued by President Clinton late today. See this post from an RB board which I read after typing the foregoing:

Regarding superconductors, there may be only 3 recognized players today. They are, in descending order of share price: Conductus (CDTS), Superconductor Technologies (SCON) and Illinois Superconductor (ISCO). Disclosure: I have a miniscule interest in the latter.
