I thought the hunters was going to kill the market in the last hour but cheered when the market showed a healthy gain for the first time since Neanderthal man was writing on caves. You know how upset I have been for quite some time at Allen Greenspan and his obsession with hiking interest rates for no good reason. Who would have thought that we would be clobbered with high energy prices, a plunging euro, wave after wave of earnings warnings and downgrades, tension and catastrophe in the middle east? The last several weeks seemed like a day after day nightmare. I have not sold my positions and like you suffered massive paper losses. One stock of mine CMGI went from 150 down to 17. The guest market monitor on the NBR said that the trend is down and he is expecting the Nasdaq to fall another 25% to around 2500.
It seems like one bozo after another has to spread the gloom and doom.

Had a great vacation out west and enjoyed visiting the western frontiers, Started in Las Vegas and ended in Denver Colorado. It was well worth every penny. Came home and decided to take a drive to Conway, New Hampshire. Could not find a place to stay, endured long traffic lines and had to drive 300 miles back to Connecticut before finding a place to bunk at a motel 6 at 1:30am. The guy who registered in front of me said that he and his girl friend was just looking for a room for three hours. I too was looking for a room for three hours plus five more to get a good nights sleep.

Tonight if I recall correctly the topic of discussion is technology on Wall Street Week which airs here in one half hour.

Hope everything is well with your family and take care

Best Regards
Frank

Hi Sonny,

Almost a year ago (last December) you cheered me up when I was starting to doubt my long term hold of Intel. You were right, I held on, and was happy I did!

I'm still holding on! Yes, Intel has had some poor executions, but I believe they are in a position to seize the opportunities of servers, internet, networking, comm. The market has really overreacted. I would buy more, if I had any cash <ggg>

Hang in there! BTW, how've you been?

Best regards,
Greg
