Joe, yes, AMD has lots of potential. we all know that. However, in today's market, "potential" and $1 will buy you a McChicken Sandwich (using you food analogy). you're making the "classic" Droid mistake...that Intel will sit back and do nothing to respond to any AMD threat.

Joe - Re: "AMD has a lot on their plate for the next 2 quarters: Mustang, Palomino, Morgan, mobile versions of the Palomino/Morgan 760, 760 MP, DDR, helping someone to finally finish the integrated chipsets, mobile chipsets. I hope they won't start dropping the ball the way Intel has when faced with numper of projects / priorities"

Looks like AMD ALREADY DROPPED THE BALL - EVERY ONE OF THE PRODUCTS YOU LISTED IS LATE !! .

Are you in DENIAL or what?

Paul

Re: "A small company like AMD can't do everything, so they decided to skip dual SDR SDRAM chipset. What you say is missing in action for 1 year will never arrive. It has been canceled long time ago"

So that's what you call it when they give up? They cancelled it is the same thing as saying they canned it because they couldn't get it to work.

Why is this so hard? Intel has never shipped a P6 generation chipset die that didn't support SMP, while AMD has never been able to get one to work. Why? What is a no-brainer for Intel is a seemingly impossible task for AMD. Why is this so hard? No matter how you try and make up excuses, this is a major screwup at AMD that shows no end in sight.

AMD SMP, still missing in action.....
