Frank- If you think customer are willing to suffer less than five nines, I'm wondering what is your opinion of why fiberless has not made a bigger impact in the access space? Since I don't know the costs associated with the equipment, was cost the prohibitive factor in the past few years that fiberless has been available? Or was it an issue of being unsafe?
______________

While back on the fiberless subject, one thing that has puzzled me for awhile is why did Lucent pay so much for their equity stake in TerraBeam? Lucent already had a p-p system. Why is it so much more difficult to do a p-mp system? Was this capability of TerraBeam really worth BILLIONS of dollars?

As you may recall, Wendy brought up what I thought was a p-p fiberless player(http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14398732). Then Peter that mentioned to me(http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14401223), if you simply stick some more beams up on one of the points side, it could be converted to p-mp. So why the lighthouse type thing that TerraBeam set up? Why not just throw up a few extra guns to do p-mp?

In other words, what's the big deal with what a TerraBeam type system offers? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Sorry if this has already been answered. If it was, I missed it.
