Albert,

You mention Osha a lot on the AMD board. He has a 12-18 month price target of $75 on AMD, yet he goes out of his way to reiterate his near-term Accumulate rating. On the surface, reiterating the Accumulate means he's not willing to officially commit to AMD going up by 20% or greater in the next 12 months. He could upgrade AMD to a Buy rating with a target as low as $27-28 but he doesn't. Isn't that odd? Even MYPT was rated Buy until Friday morning.

BTW, re: reduced estimates, last year Osha lowered his 2000E from $38.5 bil to $34.0 bil and upgraded the stock and raised his price target twice in the process before downgrading the stock and reducing the estimate to $32.6 bil. His current estimate is $34.7 bil. During the stretch where he lowered the estimates by 11.6%, he raised his price target by 41%. Even after he downgraded, his price target was up 27% even though his rev. estimate was down 15%.

Currently his price target is 56% higher than when he downgraded and he has raised his rev. estimate by 6%. At peak, an 83% price target increase was accompanied by a 7% increase in the rev. estimate. There isn't always a strong correlation between an analyst's numbers and the corresponding outlook for the stock.
