Just thought I would drop in. I often do covered calls as it is one of the couple of strategies I use. I will be gone for a couple of weeks again since I am in the navy, but will try and get back to the thread here if you are interested. I look for companies like cmos that are beaten down and trading at very attractive valuation levels. Many times they get bought out much like hdd did on me a few weeks ago. I both traded and did covered calls on it six times this year and made money every time. I currently bought hlit today.... a company with near 8 a share in cash for $10 a share. Price to sales ratio is quite low and company has no debt. Just doesn't get any better.
Anyway, I also post on the how to make money in covered calls thread and have the nick name from herm at times as virgbear since I also will short stocks based on my analysis of the market climate.
anyway, enough for now. I will post or respond when I return from sea if you are interested. I just noticed your new thread. good luck
