Those wildfires were terrible and tragic. But they have nothing to do with the Clinton administration.

It happened on his "watch".. It happened while Clinton was spending millions on funding Federal Monuments but cutting back on Fire prevention.

And it happened while democrats were essentially in charge of the budget for the agriculture department for the majority of the past 50 years.

But realistically speaking, I think the point is that a tremendous amount of pristine forest land was needlessly devastated this summer because it was overgrown. And it was overgrown because of the long-standing policy of not permitting small forest fires to take place and clearing out undergrowth while not killing the larger trees.

But most of all, it points out that anything man does, nature can readily undo... Any imbalance that is created, brings nature's forces of equilibrium to bear to restore the balance.

Whether it be our interfering with natural forest fires, or dumping millions of barrels of oil in Valdez harbor.

So if you're going to sue for $5 billion over an unintended accident, what is the value to plaintiffs for the damage they incurred from deliberate and intentional mis-management of the forests?
