I don't know. But it's a good question. Might it be based on the valuation of current business in T1/E1 and ATM vs AMCC and it's optical future?

I will look for anything I can find to help here.

Maybe TD (or BD......<grin>) would have a idea they could share.

Yaker, I don't know about the others, but many ML price targets are set based on the stock price at the time the target is established. ML's PMCS $300 target was set in July when PMCS was close to $230. AMCC's was set in August when the stock was in the $180s. At ML a Buy rated stock should offer at least 20% implied upside.
